Product Manager, Finances
About the Role:
Clover’s product team is focused on simplifying the lives of small business owners through the strategic efforts of empowered product teams. Helping merchants and Clover achieve their respective goals through this mission is our daily focus.
Clover is looking for a hands-on product manager to lead the product function in our finances area. In this role, you will be responsible for delivering products and experiences that help small businesses understand their holistic financial position and enable them to address any challenges related to cash flow or lending. Financial data and cash flow management will be offered across all business verticals.

Looking across the entire product lifecycle for opportunities to grow merchant engagement and product adoption.
Deeply understanding the challenges that small business owners face, particularly with cash flow management and consolidating their overall financial position.
Build and leverage strong and positive working relationships with a wide array of stakeholders as you navigate a fast-paced and complex industry.
Analyze and deeply understand the merchant perspective to offer financial analysis and potential lending solutions relevant to the context of their financial position at any given time
Bringing a project management mindset to the role as you context switch between various product lines and drive the team to success.

Define the merchant experience and journeys for finance-related functionality on the Clover web dashboard
Understand and represent market requirements and merchants pain points around finances
Define solutions for new finance-related capabilities to drive deeper engagement on the Clover web dashboard
Research market offerings and competitors
Coordinate with user research team
Define user requirements
Communicate requirements with design, engineering and product ops
Review and prioritize the backlog on Jira
Lead sprint refinement sessions and clearly communicate requirements with engineering & quality colleagues
Coordinate releases with release management team
Assist in building business cases (including opportunity sizing and financial analysis) to define, evaluate and prioritize competing opportunities to inform Clover’s roadmap
Communicate rationale, prioritization and development status with product, engineering and other cross-functional stakeholders
Analyze user feedback and data to optimize the user experience
Establish yourself as a subject matter expert in small business cash flow management and lending solutions
Identify market problems and merchant pain points and
Manage the end-to-end product development process
Manage system integrations with internal teams and 3rd party providers
Drive expansion into new channels and international regions
Challenge the status quo and be a product evangelist
Tirelessly evangelize on behalf of your team and the business owners you serve
Assist in analyzing and reviewing the impact of existing features/functionalities.
Travel: some travel may be required; One to five trips per year.
How will you spend your time?
Meeting with and learning from small business owners, sales agents, Clover customer support associates, marketing team members and other partners
Working with UX design and content design to create an efficient, seamless merchant experience
Discovering and vetting new product opportunities
Iterating on existing products to maximize value
Prioritizing and maintaining the product backlog
Working with developers and partners on systems integrations
Product operations including proper product boarding and customer support
Analyzing data to evaluate the effectiveness of product changes
5+ years in a product management role with experience across the spectrum from strategy and vision to execution and delivery
Plus if you have experience in finance, banking, the payments industry or financial services industry
Experience implementing products in a matrix organization with dependencies across diverse teams and applications.
BA/BS degree required
Strong project management skills
Good communication / interpersonal skills with proven ability to take initiative and build strong, productive relationships
Excellent organizational & analytical skills
