Senior Web Engineer

About the Team 

• We are a rapidly growing and talented engineering team building product and platform software. The team owns and is responsible for web and server solutions to support Clover applications.

What you will do: 

• As a Senior Web Engineer, you are in a highly visible role that makes a meaningful impact in developing primarily front-end applications. 

• Lead the architecture, design, and development of web-based and front-end applications mainly using Javascript, Typescript, React, HTML 

• Contribute to the architecture, design, and development of server-side applications using JVM languages, container technologies, and cloud-native principles.

• Coach and mentor engineers to deliver efficient, extensible solutions and improve their technical and leadership skills.

• Raise the bar on engineering excellence by advocating engineering best practices, lean agile methodologies, and a CI/CD DevOps mindset.

• Triage bugs and the impact on product or service operations and quality with a focus on customer centricity

• Contribute to the vision, strategy, and assist in the software technical roadmap.

***This position requires - 4 days in office with an option to work Friday from home. First 90 days you'll be expected in office all 5 days.

What you will need to have:

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or a related discipline and 10+ years of professional software development experience 

• 5+ years of hands-on experience developing highly scalable, fault-tolerant distributed systems and technical leadership experience 

• Strong experience with multithreading, concurrency models, and asynchronous programming

• Proficiency with a focus area on the web. Deep knowledge of React / Webpack / modern tools, Typescript, and HTML 

• Expertise in building and maintaining large-scale web applications. Deep understanding of Javascript and HTML ecosystems with experience delivering web UIs as a feature developer

• Experience with at least one JVM language, such as Java, Kotlin, and Scala.

• Experience designing intuitive and extensible Restful API and exposure to GraphQL API

• Experience with micro-apps, micro-services, and cloud-native applications, as well as Spring Boot and preferably Spring Cloud

What would be great to have:

• Master's degree in Computer Science or related discipline.

• Professional cloud service provider certifications.

• Experience with BDD, TDD, and relevant frameworks 

• Knowledge or interest in learning functional programming.

• Prior experience or exposure to POS systems.
