About the Team - Customer Engagement
The Customer Engagement team helps businesses to attract, retain, and reward their customers. It allows businesses to create personalized and gamified loyalty programs, campaigns, and offers that drive customer behavior and repeat visits. We also provide businesses with insights and analytics on customer behavior, preferences, and feedback.
Clover delivers the leading Point of Sale system with an elegant end-to-end solution that includes cloud-enabled POS software, payments processing, platform API’s for third-party developers, customer facing applications for online ordering and rewards. The Clover platform delivers solutions that scale from small businesses to sport and entertainment venues globally, supporting millions of payment transactions daily.
As a Software Engineering Manager you can look forward to:
Leading 2-3 scrum teams of 6-8 engineers and managing their deliverables, execution, and career growth through mentoring and coaching (Java, Spring Boot, Rest API, React, Micro services, Micro Apps, MySQL, GCP/Docker/Kubernetes, Agile)
Providing inspiration and guidance to the growing team; fostering a culture of transparency, collaboration, and innovation.
Preparing and reviewing technical designs, code reviews, and delivery of high-quality architecture.
Having a passion for coaching and mentoring teams, helping individuals grow professionally and technically.
Being responsible for the end-to-end delivery of features in support of the Clover product and platform. Participating in Agile scrum meetings including sprint planning, standups and retrospectives.
Working cross-functionally with Product Management, Design, Quality, Operations, and Customer Support.
Defining roadmaps and schedules, and delivering high-quality solutions for our clients and partners.
Ensuring a high level of technical quality by driving architectural decisions and leading code reviews with your team.
Participating in bug triage meetings and helping prioritize bugs raised from internal and external customers.
Maintaining relationships with internal & external partners during the implementation process to ensure that any critical issues are promptly addressed.
Establishing department standards and procedures, recommending efficient ways to ensure the best implementation practices of new or upgraded products.
Basic qualifications for consideration:
Bachelor’s Degree required, related discipline in Computer Science and/or Engineering is preferred.
Experience building customer facing applications
Ability to be hands on in software development
6+ years of experience in software development with 2 years as a tech lead, preferably working in Java.
2+ years of experience as a People Leader managing small to midsize teams.
Preferred Qualifications for consideration:
Experience with MySQL or similar relational databases.
Experience with single page applications (we use React).
Building distributed, service oriented, microservices-style, and cloud-based application architectures (we use Spring Boot on Google Cloud and Kubernetes)
Important info about this role:
We’re better together! This role is fully on-site (all 5 days in the office) for the first 90 days and Monday through Thursday after that (Fridays can be optional).
Salary Range$108,900.00 - $186,800.00
These pay ranges apply to employees in New York and California. Pay ranges for employees in other states may differ.
